SMETA – 2 pillar and 4 pillar assessments
About the standard
SMETA, an audit process, serves as a comprehensive tool to evaluate and enhance standards concerning labor, health and safety, environmental practices, and ethical conduct within your organization’s operations or at a supplier’s site.
The audit house will provide a Corrective Action Plan to either you or your supplier to help improve performance in the areas identified.
By conducting a SMETA audit, the overarching goal is to safeguard workers against hazardous conditions, exploitation, discrimination, inadequate compensation, and any form of forced labor.
